In the face of rainstorms and flash floods causing heavy damage to people in the Northern mountainous region, SOTEC launched a donation campaign and organized a relief trip in Lao Cai province on October 12, 2024.
Heavily affected by the circulation of Super Typhoon Yagi, many areas in Lao Cai province, of which Bat Xat district is one of the places most damaged by flash floods and landslides. Many places are isolated, making it difficult for rescue and support work, many households face shortages of necessities, damaged houses and severely affected living environments.
Faced with that situation, SOTEC has launched a donation campaign from the company’s employees, as well as deducting the company’s funds to organize relief trips for people at 2 heavily damaged points of Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, namely Ban Pho, A Mu Sung commune and Phin Chai 2 village, A Lu commune. With a total budget of 130 million VND, the delegation has purchased necessities such as rice, milk, shrimp noodles, blankets, pots and pans, etc. and set out on the road, overcoming the roads to bring them to the place, handing them over to 86 households in the 2 villages mentioned above.
Due to bad roads and landslides, after more than 10 hours of continuous movement, the volunteer delegation was present at the relief goods reception point of A Lu commune, Bat Xat district. Here, the delegation presented necessities and cash to local leaders to serve the relief work.

SOTEC expressed its hope that the gifts will not only help people overcome the difficulties in front of them but also spread the spirit of solidarity, bringing faith and hope to families affected by natural disasters. The companionship of SOTEC with people in flooded areas affirms the sense of responsibility of businesses to society, this is also a call for the community to join hands and contribute to overcome natural disasters together, help people in areas affected by storms and floods, bringing joy and warmth on rainy and stormy days.
After the volunteer journey in Lao Cai, SOTEC plans to continue to implement volunteer activities, spreading love to many localities across the country.
